Great History of Our Institute
Established since 2006
Government Institute of Information Technology (GIIT), Kohati Bazar, Rawalpindi proudly stands as the first-ever IT Institute established by TEVTA under the Punjab Government. Since our building was completed in 2006 and our first classes began in January 2007 — starting with just CCA, AutoCAD, and Spoken English courses — we have grown into one of Punjab’s leading technical training institutions, once ranking among the top ten institutes in PBTE’s annual examinations province-wide.
What began with 62 students in our first regular Diploma session has grown into hundreds of graduates trained across Diploma in Information Technology (DIT), Diploma in Office Management & Assistant (DOMA), Web Designing, Graphic Designing, AutoCAD, and Spoken English — all delivered from our four fully air-conditioned computer labs, under PBTE and TTB certification.
Today, that legacy continues to expand. GTTI Kohati Bazar is a proud training venue for the Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Hunarmand Program, offering advanced IT training with international certification in partnership with global names like Adobe, Meta, Microsoft, and Cisco — completely free of cost. We regularly host TEVTA Skills Job Fairs, connecting our graduates directly with 45+ employers for on-the-spot interviews and immediate job offers, and we run inclusive, fee-free short courses for students with disabilities. Through hands-on industry visits, on-campus recruitment drives, and OJT placements, we don’t just teach — we place our students on a real path to employment.
